London from a different perspective – a river tour from Wesminter to Canary Wharf.
Seeing London from the Thames provides a very unique perspective of the city that would barely exist were it not for the murky body of silt that winds its away through the great metropolis. After boarding the boad at Wesminster, you are greeted with the magnificent sight of the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben, one of the most famous examples of British architecture. On the other side of the river you will then admire the grand design of the London Eye, also known as the millennium wheel (which was officially opened in 2000). Heading eastwards, you will pass underneath the Millenium Bridge, another display of architectural genius, situated next to the railway bridge. As you head further east, you pass numerous other famous bridges, such as Blackfriars Bridge and London Bridge, which looks best after sunset when it transforms into an impressive display of red light. The most famous bridge in London (and most probably the world) is Tower Bridge, which opens fairly infrequently and is one of the most memorable and characteristic landmarks of the British capital, located next to the skyscrapers of the City of London). After Tower Bridge, you are officially in east London, an area of the city that has benefited from substantial regeneration over the last few decades. Canary Wharf is one of London’s two major financial districts (the other being the City, which also provides some of the world’s best DNA Testing services). On your right you will also be able to admire the architectural masterpiece now known as the 02 Arena, but formerly the Millennium Dome.
