A Happy Story

Fate can sometimes do strange things. It can bring two people together who are never to be with each other and make them live almost perfect lives and then it changes their lives in a way that is almost unimaginable. Let me tell you a story that was truly inspired by fate.

Samantha and Jose were married to each other. They were childhood sweethearts, actually best friends. Both of them loved someone else, but their families insisted them to get married with each other. Their friendship soon turned into enmity once they got married. Although, they lived together under one roof they could not bear the sight of each other. The house echoed with constant fights. They only lived together for the sake of their children. Then the day came when they decided to part ways. An ugly court battle was fought between them for the custody of the children and the home equity release of their shared abode. The children went to live with their father, Jose, and Samantha was left all alone. Soon enough, Samantha rekindled her love life and found her Prince charming in her former lover, Phil. They were a perfect couple who never fought, but Samantha found something amiss in her life. Years passed by and her heart still ached for something.

While Samantha lived her content and monotonous life, Jose’s health flailed. When Samantha learned about this, she came to stay away with him for a few days. Samantha nursed Jose and got him back to his healthy state. This time something changed between them - they did not back to their grumpy old ways of fighting with each other.

One day Samantha overheard Jose talking on the phone. He jokingly told his friend that his health improved because his proximity to his former wife and not because of the medicines. Tears welled up in Samantha’s eyes and certainly she found the missing ingredient. She broke up with Phil and the reason Phil got to hear was – We don’t fight enough to love each other.

Samantha asked for forgiveness from Jose and happily granted it to her. They remarried and happily fought ever after.
