Beloved Play-Dough Stains

Play-Dough on the carpet stuck in and dried, nearly impossible to remove with out insane elbow grease, intense soaking and a little bit of toothpaste. The hated Play-Dough sits there staring at you, daring you to remove it from the room. As you begin to scrub and scrape and soak your start to remember back. Three months ago your 13 month old decided he wanted to know what was in that little can that smelled so good. He refused to give in to your evasive maneuvers to keep the can away from him. He knew there must be something wonderful inside.
Then finally, with great reluctance and knowing what was coming, you gave in. You opened the little can and handed it to him with the lid still on top. He carefully removed it looking at your at first as if asking permission. Then he put the lid on the table and peered inside with wonder taking in the smell. Looking at you again, he placed is little hand in the can and touched with just one finger. Liking the feeling and wanting to know more he dumped it upside down on the table. Then he picked it up and squeezed a piece between two fingers watching it ooze out like soft velvet. Then it happens. You knew it was coming. He looks up with you with those big curious eyes and as he looks at you he puts the Play-Dough in his mouth. This is of course followed by a facial expression of complete confusion. Although the experience was not wonderful he tries again. You are forced to put up the Play-Dough before he makes a meal of it.
Now here you are three months later, cleaning Play-Dough off the carpet with c fold towels because your baby has reached another milestone. He has found a new use for Play-Dough that doesn’t involve ingesting it. Tears come to your eyes as you realize this means he is growing quickly. What will be next, crayons as a writing utensil instead of a gourmet dessert?
